Welcome to the Waterfall Pod, located in a secluded valley in the beautiful Melozhori Game Reserve, just 2 hours 30 minutes from Cape Town. Surrounded by undulating hills and mountains, with no other signs of civilisation, you’ll feel as though you’re in the deepest bush of Africa! There are 38 species of game in the reserve but no predators so you can walk and mountain bike freely. A complimentary game drive is also included in your stay where you can spot giraffe, zebra, sable and even fallow deer!
Features
This luxuriously furnished pod can accommodate 2 adults and 2 small children on request. The pod is super secluded and has its own wood-fired hot tub, pizza oven and a massive 14m hammock to watch game browsing nearby or gaze at the beautiful starry night skies. The spacious interiors offer all the creature comforts of home as well as a full range of modern amenities, making it ideal for a romantic breakaway or honeymoon stay.
The Space
Kitchen
There’s a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and bean-to-cup coffee machine. On arrival, you’ll be greeted with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread (which tastes as good as it smells!), as well as a fresh fruit bowl. Coffee, tea, sugar, milk, homemade biscuits, hot chocolate, olive oil, vinegar and salt & pepper are also provided. Don’t forget to pack your own pizza ingredients to take advantage of the pizza oven or order a pizza basket.
Living/Dining
There are numerous chill areas throughout the space to take in the views and hopefully spot some game too! The open plan living space is modernly furnished with a four-seater dining table, a comfy couch, and a double-sided fireplace that separates the bedroom from the living area. The living area opens onto a massive deck with a braai, multiple seating areas, a 14m cargo net, and a wood-fired hot tub. There is also a handy Bluetooth speaker to set the mood just right.
Bedroom
The king sized bed comes with electric blankets, luxurious linen, and plenty of extra blankets. Gowns and slippers are provided for your comfort, and you’ll find a cute bedtime story and chocolate next to your bed. There is also a bean bag, perfect for cozying up next to the fireplace in winter, and an aircon for those hot summer nights.
Bathroom
The uniquely designed curved bathroom features a large walk-in shower and a freestanding bath. The sliding doors open onto the deck, allowing you to enjoy a bubble bath semi in nature.
Amenities
Our Top Tips
- Pack your hiking shoes, mountain bike and binoculars as there is 2300 hectares of property to explore and 38 species of wildlife. You can also hire e-bikes which is so much fun!
- If the Waterfall Pod is fully booked, have a look at the Valley Pod as they are pretty much identical
- There is a two night minimum stay so make sure to book your leave in for a stress-free getaway (the wifi can be a little slow at times if you’re working remotely)
- You’ll want to grab your groceries beforehand, as once you arrive, you won’t want to leave (Peregrine Farm Stall is a good option for some fresh produce, homemade quiches and pies)
- Semi-catering, pizza baskets, snack platters etc can be arranged with prior notice. We recommend ordering the pizza basket
- Melozhori is situated on the Robertson Wine Valley Route. If you do decide to venture out then make sure to stop off at Springfield Wine Estate, their Life From Stone wine is our all time favourite!
