If there’s one cabin you need to add to your bucket list, it’s this one! This forest stay is pure magic and one of our top picks for a romantic getaway along the Garden Route. Tucked away in an indigenous forest at the foot of the breathtaking Outeniqua Mountains, this architectural masterpiece strikes the perfect balance between seclusion and convenience, with town just a short drive away.
With dreamy interiors, a wood-fired hot tub, and the kind of forest setting that makes you want to switch off your phone and soak it all in, it’s the kind of place you’ll never want to leave.
What we loved
Our jaws were on the floor the moment we walked in. The architecture is like nothing we’ve seen before! It truly is the most incredible treehouse stay, and that double outdoor shower is everything. We loved the peace and quiet, surrounded by towering trees, birds chirping, and the gentle sound of a nearby stream, best enjoyed from the hot tub, of course. The farm-fresh eggs, homemade rusks, and piquante peppers were such a treat and the perfect addition to our pizzas.
The Space
Kitchenette
There’s a fully equipped kitchenette with a gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, whistling kettle, and toaster. Ground coffee, tea, sugar, olive oil, and salt & pepper are provided, along with farm-fresh eggs, a bottle of homemade piquante peppers, and rusks.
Living/Dining
Inside the cabin, you’ll find a beautiful couch next to the fireplace, which separates the living area from the bedroom. There’s also a two-seater dining table with plush red velvet chairs, or a barstool setup outside, perfect for your morning coffee. They also have a selection of board games to keep you entertained.
Outdoors
Just outside the bedroom you’ll find the wood-fired hot tub and a comfy lounging area. There’s also an outdoor braai and bar stool seating. Steps lead down to the fire pit and pizza oven, so don’t forget to pack your pizza ingredients!
Bedroom
The bedroom gave us serious Canadian skiing chalet vibes, but with forest views. The extra-length king-sized bed comes with luxurious linen, hot water bottles, and extra blankets for winter, but the fireplace will keep you extra toasty! There’s also a fan for the warmer months and clothing rails for storage.
Bathroom
The bathroom is just as beautiful as the rest of the cabin, featuring a shower and a bath with a view. Bath amenities and salts are provided, along with robes. But we promise you’ll want to shower outside – that double outdoor shower is everything.
