Just 90 minutes from Cape Town, it’s the perfect farm escape for two, offering breathtaking mountain views, a cargo net, wood-fired hot tub, bean bags, an outdoor bath and shower, pizza oven, braai, aircon, TV, high speed wifi, and so many thoughtful touches — ideal for a romantic weekend getaway or working remotely.
It’s also just a 10 minute drive into Tulbagh, perfect if you’re in the mood for wine tasting or grabbing a bite to eat. Spend your afternoons strolling through the orchards, exploring the farm on horseback or taking in the gorgeous mountain views from the cargo nets while sipping on their complimentary sherry. Order an early bird breakfast basket or a sunset basket to make your stay even better!
Features
This off-grid cabin, with touches of green and gold throughout (ideal for Bokke supporters!), sleeps two and is tucked away amongst pine trees and boulders for ultimate privacy. All the small touches and thoughtful amenities ensure a super comfy stay and there is also an aircon for summer and a fireplace and electric blankets for winter. Outside, you’ll find all the outdoor amenities you could wish for, including a wood-fired hot tub, cargo nets, pizza oven, braai, and both an outdoor bath and shower. And all the fires are pre-built and ready for you to light with a lollipop firelighter.
The Space
Kitchen
There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and toaster. Filter coffee, tea, sugar, 250ml milk, rusks, olive oil, 5L water and salt & pepper are provided. Don’t forget to pack your pizza ingredients as you’ll want to make use of the pizza oven!
Living/Dining
There’s a large leather couch positioned in front of the fireplace with a flat screen TV. You can choose to dine indoors at the kitchen counter or outdoors on the wooden deck. But the best seat in the house has to be the cargo nets, complete with the comfiest handmade cushions.
Bedroom
The bedroom opens out onto the deck and boasts stunning mountain views. The queen sized bed comes with extra blankets for winter as well as electric blankets. There is also an aircon for those hot summer nights.
Bathroom
The green theme continues into the bathroom, which boasts a large shower. There is also an outdoor shower if you want to shower outside with views of the farm and sometimes horses in the distance. Steps will lead you down to the Barn Owl Hideout – a large bath surrounded by trees and birds chirping. It’s especially magical at night when all the fairy lights are on!

Our Top Tips
- Pack your takkies or mountain bike – you’ll want to explore the farm and orchards and stop to take some pics with the pink and white blossoms in spring
- Bring your horse riding gear as they offer guided horseback rides through the orchards
- Don’t forget to pack your pizza ingredients as you’ll want to make use of the pizza oven!
- They offer the following food baskets to make your stay even better: Early Bird Breakfast basket, Horse Ride and Cheese & Wine or a Sunset Basket which you can add when you book your stay
- Don’t stress if you’ve forgotten something as it’s just a 10 minute drive into Tulbagh. There are also some really great coffee shops, restaurants and wine tasting spots to explore, we recommend Kole & Deeg for lunch/coffee, The Tulbagh Hotel for dinner & Montpellier, Saronsberg or Twee Jonge Gezellen for wine tasting
