The cabin with it all! Just 90 minutes from Cape Town, it’s the perfect farm escape for two, offering breathtaking mountain views, a cargo net, wood-fired hot tub, sun loungers, an outdoor bath and shower, pizza oven, braai, aircon, TV, high speed wifi, and so many thoughtful touches — ideal for a romantic weekend getaway or working remotely.
It’s also just a 10 minute drive into Tulbagh, perfect if you’re in the mood for wine tasting or grabbing a bite to eat. Spend your afternoons strolling through the orchards, exploring the farm on horseback or taking in the gorgeous mountain views from the cargo nets while sipping on their complimentary sherry.
What we loved
This cabin has such a calming feel with its neutral, earthy tones, and stunning mountain views, perfectly framed by pine trees. We loved listening to the birds chirping while soaking in the outdoor bath and hot tub. And all the small touches and thoughtful amenities make for a super comfy stay!
The Space
Kitchen
There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and toaster. Filter coffee, tea, sugar, 250ml milk, rusks, olive oil, 5L water and salt & pepper are provided. Don’t forget to pack your pizza ingredients as you’ll want to make use of the pizza oven!
Living/Dining
There’s a large leather couch positioned in front of the fireplace with a flat screen TV. You can choose to dine indoors at the kitchen counter or outdoors on the wooden deck. There is also an aircon for summer.
Outdoors
Outside, you’ll find all the outdoor amenities you could wish for, including a wood-fired hot tub, cargo nets, pizza oven, braai, and both an outdoor bath and shower. And all the fires are pre-built and ready for you to light with a lollipop firelighter.
Bedroom
The bedroom features a queen sized bed with luxurious linen and a stunning wooden headboard. There are extra blankets for winter, electric blankets and a clothing rail/shelves for storage.
Bathroom
The bathroom features a large shower. There is also an outdoor shower and bath just outside the bedroom which is surrounded by pine trees and birds chirping!
Amenities
Our Top Tips
- Pack your takkies or mountain bike – you’ll want to explore the farm and orchards and stop to take some pics with the pink and white blossoms in spring
- Bring your horse riding gear as they offer guided horseback rides through the orchards
- Don’t forget to pack your pizza ingredients as you’ll want to make use of the pizza oven!
- Don’t stress if you’ve forgotten something as it’s just a 10 minute drive into Tulbagh. There are also some really great coffee shops, restaurants and wine tasting spots to explore, we recommend Kole & Deeg for lunch/coffee, The Tulbagh Hotel for dinner & Montpellier, Saronsberg or Twee Jonge Gezellen for wine tasting
