Just an hour from Johannesburg, this is one of those places that feels worlds away yet so easy to reach! The Valley Pods take everything we loved about the original Mountain Pods and turn it up a notch on the luxury scale – with sleek design, more spacious interiors, thoughtful details, and those signature views that stretch for miles. Spend your days chilling on the cargo nets or beanbag loungers, soaking in the hot tub, or curling up around the fire pit under a sky full of stars.
what we loved
We especially loved the location of Valley Pod Two as it’s right on the end which makes it super private, and the setting over the cliff is absolutely spectacular! It’s so peaceful and relaxing, and the birdlife is incredible. It also feels super safe with an electric fence around the perimeter and 24/7 security. The small touches are next level, they’ve really thought of everything but our favourite spot to chill had to be on those beanbag sun loungers – we didn’t want to get off!
The space
Kitchen
There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, whistling kettle, SMEG coffee machine and toaster. Instant coffee, ground coffee, coffee beans, tea, sugar, rusks, 250ml milk, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt & pepper are provided.
Living/Dining
The space has been designed for outdoor living, but if the weather isn’t great, you can dine at the kitchen countertop or curl up on the window seat with a good book in hand.
Outdoors
The deck has everything you need for the ultimate chill-out session! A big dining table for lazy lunches, beanbag sun loungers that might just ruin regular chairs for you forever, and a wood-fired hot tub that doubles as a splash pool. There are also two cargo nets (so you don’t have to fight over one!) and a boma area with a braai and pizza oven – just bring your pizza toppings or pre-order one for the perfect evening.
Bedroom
The bedroom opens onto the deck, allowing you to throw the doors wide open and take in the breathtaking views right from your bed. The king-sized bed features luxurious linen, extra blankets for winter, and even a fireplace to keep things cozy. There’s also a clothes rail with drawers for storage, and a fan to keep you cool during the summer months.
Bathroom
The spacious bathroom features a large indoor shower, and there’s also an outdoor garden shower surrounded by succulents. Charlotte Rhys amenities and gowns are provided.

- Book a massage and enjoy it from the comfort of the cabin — there’s no better way to relax!
- The team can assist you with booking a variety of adventures eg. hot air ballooning, quad biking, zip lining, etc.
- You’ll want to grab your groceries beforehand, as once you arrive, you won’t want to leave! The nearest shops are PNP Mountain Lake Shopping Centre & Super Spar The Islands
- If the Valley Pods are booked over your dates, have a look at the Mountain Pods (they are also slightly cheaper)
