This cozy and romantic forest cabin offers the perfect blend of comfort and nature, and it’s not too far from Cape Town either!
Located on a working fruit farm in Tulbagh, it’s an ideal farm escape. Spend your afternoons strolling through the orchards, exploring the farm on horseback, or relaxing in the wood-fired hot tub while taking in the gorgeous forest and mountain views.
Features
This off-grid cabin, with pops of green throughout, sleeps two and features an open-plan layout with forest views from every window, even from bed! All the small touches and thoughtful amenities ensure a super comfy stay, and there is also an aircon for summer and a fireplace and electric blankets for winter. Outside, you’ll find a wood-fired hot tub, braai and pizza oven, as well as an outdoor shower. And all the fires are pre-built and ready for you to light with a lollipop firelighter.
The Space
Kitchen
There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and toaster. Filter coffee, tea, sugar, 250ml milk, rusks, olive oil, 5L water and salt & pepper are provided. Don’t forget to pack your pizza ingredients as you’ll want to make use of the pizza oven!
Living/Dining
The lounge features two leather armchairs positioned in front of the fireplace with a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. You can choose to dine indoors at the kitchen counter or outdoors on the wooden deck.
Bedroom
The bedroom opens out onto the deck and boasts stunning forest views. The queen sized bed comes with extra blankets for winter as well as electric blankets. There is also an aircon for those hot summer nights.
Bathroom
The modern bathroom features a large walk in shower with Fynbos shampoo and body wash. You’ll also have the option of showering outside with views of the farm and sometimes horses in the distance!

Our Top Tips
- Pack your takkies or mountain bike – you’ll want to explore the farm and orchards and stop to take some pics with the pink and white blossoms in spring
- Bring your horse riding gear as they offer guided horseback rides through the orchards
- Don’t forget to pack your pizza ingredients as you’ll want to make use of the pizza oven!
- Don’t stress if you’ve forgotten something as it’s just a 10 minute drive into Tulbagh. There are also some really great coffee shops, restaurants and wine tasting spots to explore, we recommend Kole & Deeg for lunch/coffee, The Tulbagh Hotel for dinner & Montpellier, Saronsberg or Twee Jonge Gezellen for wine tasting
