This cabin’s location is hard to beat! Perched above the Breede River, it offers the perfect setting for a peaceful getaway with some of the best birdwatching around, especially for spotting birds of prey!
Located 3 hours from Cape Town on a working wheat farm with sheep and cattle, it’s completely private, features a wood-fired hot tub and cargo nets, and is just a short walk down to the river.
What we loved
The incredible Breede River views, visible from every corner of the cabin – whether you’re in the hot tub, lounging on the cargo nets, or soaking in the bath. The birdlife completely blew us away, we’ve never seen so many birds of prey at a cabin before!
The Space
Kitchen
There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a gas hob, fridge-freezer, whistling kettle, air fryer, water filter and toaster. Coffee, tea, sugar, milk, olive oil, and salt & pepper are provided.
Living/Dining
The open plan living space features a large leather couch perfectly positioned to take in the views, complete with binoculars and a bird book for identifying all the birds you spot! The space also includes a cozy fireplace and a selection of board games. Behind the couch, you’ll find a small dining table for two.
Outdoors
The views are best enjoyed outside! There is a wood fired hot tub, cargo nets, large deck with sun loungers, an outdoor shower and a boma area where you can braai. It’s also just a short walk down to the river and there is a kayak and picnic basket that you can use.
Bedroom
The bedroom opens onto the deck and has a queen-sized bed with extra blankets for winter, a clothing rail and books to read during your stay. There is a freestanding bath by the window, allowing you to soak in the river views, with sheep often grazing just outside!
