Korf has to be one of the best value-for-money four sleeper cabins out there – perfect for families, friends and pets!
Perched against the mountain in Porterville, surrounded by proteas and overlooking rolling wheat fields, this upcycled, off-grid container home offers a peaceful escape and is the perfect spot to reconnect with nature and your loved ones.
What we loved
It’s not often you find a cabin this secluded less than two hours from Cape Town, complete with all the outdoor amenities you could dream of! The attention to detail is next level – from fresh fynbos placed throughout the cabin to a welcome basket of fresh fruit from the farm. And the bathroom and outdoor shower has to be one of our favourites out there!
The Space
Kitchenette
There’s a fully equipped kitchenette with a gas hob, fridge-freezer and SMEG whistling kettle. Ground coffee, instant coffee, tea, sugar, hot chocolate, marshmallows, braai spices, salt & pepper are provided.
Living/Outdoors
The cabin has been built to enjoy the outdoors with a large spacious, covered deck with a built in braai, large dining area and comfortable lounge space. Steps lead down to the uncovered portion of the deck which has a wood fired hot tub, two sun loungers and a cargo net – perfect for star gazing! There is also a large day bed next to the kitchen in case the weather is miserable. Board games, kids toys and books are also provided.
Bedrooms
The two bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the cabin and are mirror images of each other. Each room comes with a queen-sized bed and cupboard for storage. Hot water bottles and extra blankets are provided for winter.
Bathroom
The spacious bathroom features a double shower and bath with a view. You can open the doors to be more in nature or take it to the next level by enjoying an outdoor shower. Bath amenities are provided.

Our Top Tips
- Don’t forget your hiking shoes and mountain bikes as you’ll want to explore the farm
- There is a two night minimum stay policy so make sure to book your leave in for a stress-free getaway (the wifi can be slow if you’re working remotely and there is limited cell phone signal)
- You’ll want to grab your groceries beforehand, as you won’t want to leave once you arrive! Wellington is a good option for the basics
- Stop off at Morale Coffee on the R44 on your way – in season you can enjoy your coffee in the canola fields

Things to note
- Ground coffee, instant coffee, tea, sugar, hot chocolate, marshmallows, braai spices, salt & pepper, bottled water, firewood and firelighters are provided
- A high clearance vehicle is required (SUV/Crossover or 4x4) as the last 2kms is steep and in the mountains
- Please note that the cabin is solar powered and cannot accommodate high energy appliances eg. hair dryers
- It's not advisable to drink the tap water. Bottled water is supplied but we’d suggest packing more just in case
