Perched high on the mountainside in Rooi Els, you’ll spot this four-sleeper eco cabin straight away! Just an hour’s drive from Cape Town, it’s the perfect destination for a spontaneous weekend getaway for couples and small families. Hike in the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, head down to the beach for a swim or just unwind and enjoy the views from the wood-fired hot tub or cargo nets.
Features
This off-grid Japandi-style eco cabin blends black and wood accents for a super luxurious feel. It comes with two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms and the open plan living space features fully glassed stacking doors so you can enjoy the views from every space. The large deck comes with cargo nets to enjoy the 360 degree views which will make you feel on top of the world looking over Rooi Els and out to the ocean. Half the deck is undercover so you can enjoy the wood fired hot tub no matter what the weather. The cabin also has backup power for when loadshedding hits and there is high-speed Wi-Fi which is perfect if you’re looking to work remotely.
The Space
Kitchen
The fully equipped kitchen features sleek black cabinetry and warm wooden countertops and comes with a SMEG fridge and toaster, coffee machine, freestanding oven with a gas hob, a whistling kettle, microwave and dishwasher. Coffee, tea, sugar, milk, rusks, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt & pepper are provided.
Living/Dining
The open plan living space has been designed for relaxation and comfort with a L-shaped couch and two leather armchairs (with foot rests!) next to the fireplace. There is also a large six seater dining table complete with malawi chairs. The glassed stacking doors frame stunning sea views and open out onto the deck.
Bedroom
The main bedroom opens up onto the deck and has a queen size bed and stunning sea views. The second bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms come with large open wardrobes and a ceiling fan.
Bathrooms
The two bathrooms are located next to each other, the one has a toilet and the other has a shower and toilet.
Amenities
Our Top Tips
- Pack your hiking shoes and swimming costumes as there are some amazing hikes in the Kogelberg Nature Reserve and you’ll want to head down to the beach after for a refreshing dip
- The cabin is perfect for working remotely as it has high-speed Wi-Fi and is solar powered so there’s no load shedding
- If you’ve forgotten something it’s just a 5-minute drive into Rooi-Els. There are also a few cute coffee shops and restaurants if you want to dine out
