Our Top Tips

  • Pack your hiking shoes and mountain bike as you can explore the whole farm
  • Bring your binoculars as there is so much birdlife. There are also antelope, caracals and ostriches on the farm
  • You’ll want to grab your groceries beforehand, as once you arrive, you won’t want to leave! (there is a very decent FreshStop just off the highway and a Spar a little bit further into Heidelberg, otherwise Swellendam or Riversdale are good options for the basics)
  • Bring some filter coffee along, the cabin has both a Bialetti and a French press
  • If you book a weekend stay you’ll get to enjoy a late Sunday checkout – perfect for one last slow morning

Things to note

  • Instant coffee, tea, sugar, rusks, olive oil, basic spices, salt & pepper, firewood and firelighters are provided. You can also purchase additional wood
  • We recommend a high clearance vehicle in winter as the farm road can get quite muddy
