This ultimate four sleeper puts the hide in hideaway! Ideal for couples and small families, it’s situated just outside of Montagu on the private Le Domaine Eco Reserve. You’ll be blown away by the breathtaking views over the Montagu Dam and all the birdlife (we especially loved hearing the Fish Eagles calling!).
Sink into the comfy Vetsak with a book or snooze the days away on the loungers — this is the perfect retreat to recharge and take in the sounds and sights of nature. Did we mention there is an outdoor bath to soak all your stress away? Or if cheffing is more your style, cook and braai on the fire pit or churn out homemade pizzas and focaccias in the pizza oven.
Features
This Scandinavian-inspired cabin has large stacking doors that open up onto a large deck with four sun loungers, a splash pool and fire pit so you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Montagu Dam. The cabin has backup power for when loadshedding hits and there is high-speed Wi-Fi which is perfect if you’re looking to work remotely.
The Space
Kitchen
The fully equipped kitchen has a full-sized fridge & gas stove/hob, Breville coffee machine, SMEG toaster and kettle. Instant coffee, tea, sugar, and salt & pepper are provided. All you need to pack is your own ground coffee, as well as pizza ingredients to take advantage of the pizza oven.
Living/Dining
The stylishly furnished and open plan living space separates the two bedrooms. There is an aircon, indoor fireplace, a potjie pot, bluetooth speaker, and TV with DSTV/Netflix. There is also a large selection of books and board games that will have you bonding with your loved ones faster than you can say Uno!
Bedrooms
Both bedrooms come with king size beds and luxurious linen, as well as their own Vetsak and aircon for ultimate comfort! The second bedroom can be converted into two single beds to cater for friends or children. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom and are a mirror image of each other — so there’s no need to fight about who gets the best room!
Bathrooms
Both bedrooms are ensuite and come with a large shower and branded gowns. Bedroom 1 has an outdoor bath and bedroom 2 has an outdoor shower, so washing off after a day out on the dam is no problem!
Amenities
Our Top Tips
- Pack your fishing rod as you can fish in the dam (catch and release). There is also a kayak to splish/splash around in, if you fancy getting even closer to nature!
- Don’t forget to bring your own ground coffee, pizza and potjie ingredients
- Book a massage and enjoy it from the comfort of the cabin — there’s no better way to relax!
- The cabin is perfect for working remotely as it has high-speed Wi-Fi and backup power for loadshedding
- If you’ve forgotten something there is a Spar in Montagu, just a 10-minute drive from the cabin
- As comfy as Hide is, don’t forget to factor in time to explore the town of Montagu — it’s super quaint and there are some really nice coffee shops
