Nestled on a working fruit farm with gorgeous vineyard and mountain views, Gîte One, the biggest cabin on the farm, is beautifully designed, super spacious and features a wood-fired hot tub/splash pool with garden views. And the best part is that you’re only a 5-minute walk from the Wine Tram and town, making it the perfect base for exploring Franschhoek’s incredible food and wine.
WHAT WE LOVED
This location truly offers the best of both worlds — a peaceful farm setting where you can unwind and enjoy the sights of cows grazing and the sound of a murmuring stream. Yet it’s within walking distance of town and the famous Wine Tram, so you can spend a full day wine tasting without worrying about the drive home!
The Space
Kitchen
The modern kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, electric stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. Tea, coffee, filter coffee, sugar, milk, rusks, basic spices, salt & pepper are provided.
Living/Dining
The open-plan living space features a four-seater dining table, a large L-shaped couch, and a TV with DSTV (all channels). The space is light and bright with large windows overlooking the beautiful vineyards and cows often grazing outside. There is also an aircon for those hot summer days.
Outdoors
The private patio, draped in vines, features two sun loungers that overlook the garden and soothing mountain stream. There’s also a Weber braai and a wood-fired hot tub/splash pool with jets if you want to turn it into a jacuzzi.
Bedroom
The bedroom offers both vineyard and garden views and features a queen size bed with luxurious linen. There are extra blankets for winter and ample cupboard space for storage.
Bathroom
The bathroom comes with a large shower with eco-friendly bath amenities and vineyard views.

- Pack your takkies as you’ll want to explore the farm and orchards and stop to take some pics with the pink and white blossoms in spring
- The cabin is perfect for working remotely as it has high-speed Wi-Fi and backup power for loadshedding
- Book a massage and enjoy it from the comfort of the cabin — there’s no better way to relax!
- We highly recommend experiencing the Franschhoek Wine Tram, the Terminal is just a 5 minute walk away
- Franschhoek boasts some of South Africa’s ‘Top 100’ restaurants and has become known as the country’s Culinary Capital. We recommend Smitten for breakfast/tea, and Oku, Orangerie or La Petite Colombe for fine dining
