It doesn’t get much better than soaking in an outdoor bath with horses grazing just beyond!
If you’re a horse lover this cabin is for you! Tucked away on a peaceful stud farm in the heart of the Overberg, this private cabin is surrounded by wide-open paddocks, fresh country air and endless views, yet it’s just a 10-minute drive to some of the region’s top wine farms. With sweeping views from both the front and back decks, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to sundowner spots.
What We Loved
We’ve had our fair share of outdoor baths, but this one takes the cake with horses grazing just behind making it extra special – you don’t get better neigh-bours! We also loved the two decks so you can enjoy the views from both sides, those mountain views took our breath away!
The Space
Kitchenette
There’s a fully equipped kitchenette with a gas hob, whistling kettle, Nespresso machine, microwave, toaster, and fridge-freezer. Instant coffee, filter coffee, coffee pods, tea, sugar, milk, still water, salt and pepper, and braai seasoning are provided.
Living
While you’ll want to spend most of your time outdoors on the decks, there is an indoor living space which features a couch next to a fireplace. There are also some books and boardgames to keep you entertained.
Outdoors
The cabin has decks on both sides, allowing you to soak in the views from every angle. The front deck offers a wood-fired hot tub, a dining table and a comfy lounge area – perfect for meals, sunsets, or simply unwinding. The back deck is a quieter spot and comes with another dining area and an outdoor bath and shower.
Bedroom
The queen-sized bed is fitted with luxurious linen and electric blankets. There is a ceiling fan for warmer evenings and the fireplace heats up the cabin really nicely in winter. There’s also a cupboard for storage and robes are provided too.
Bathroom
The bathroom is best enjoyed outside with both an outdoor bath and shower overlooking the paddocks. There is an indoor shower if you don’t want to shower outside.

Our Top Tips
- Pack your hiking shoes, mountain bikes and swimming costumes as you’ll want to explore the farm and surrounding areas. There is also a dam on the farm which you can swim in
- You’ll want to grab your groceries beforehand, as you won’t want to leave once you arrive! (Peregrine Farm Stall is a good option for some fresh produce, homemade quiches and pies)
- Casey Tibbs is situated close to the Hemel en Aarde Wine Valley which has some of the best wine farms in the country! Some of our favourite wine estates are: Creation, Ataraxia, Spookfontein & La Vierge Wines
- If Casey Tibbs is fully booked then have a look at their other two cabins – Jay Peg and Camden Park
