Looking for the perfect group getaway that’s not too far from Cape Town? Well, you don’t need to look any further because we’ve found the ideal spot for you and your crew, complete with stunning mountain views and a hot tub too!
This six sleeper eco cabin is nestled in the Banhoek Valley, on a 60-hectare regenerative farm, less than an hour from Cape Town. The cabin overlooks two dams and is surrounded by mountains and hiking trails making you feel like you’re a million miles away, yet it’s just an 8-minute drive into Stellenbosch if you want to go for breakfast, wine tasting or exploring.
Features
This off-grid, open-plan Scandinavian-style wood cabin is perched above a dam and has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen flows into a spacious dining and living area, separating the main bedroom from the other two bedrooms. Outside, you’ll find a large deck covered in vines with hanging chairs inviting you to curl up with a good book. Step down into the beautiful garden and you’ll find a braai and fire pit, along with a hot tub with perfectly framed views. And if you need to catch up on a bit of work, you don’t need to stress – this cabin has high-speed WiFi and no load shedding.
The Space
Kitchen
There’s a fully-equipped kitchen with a Nespresso coffee machine, SMEG kettle and toaster, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper, and a bottle of Camissa Farm wine is provided, along with fresh farm eggs (when available)! Borrow a cookbook from their collection and enjoy a gourmet weekend with your loved ones.
Living/Dining
The living space flows out onto the deck, perfectly designed for indoor/outdoor living. Inside, you’ll find a cozy lounge area with Malawi chairs, a fireplace and a TV. Take your pick between dining indoors or outdoors on the spacious deck. There are also two hanging chairs out on the deck, which are sure to spark some friendly competition for the best seat in the house!
Bedrooms
All three bedrooms come with queen size beds, luxurious Egyptian cotton linen and Mungo throws for a good night’s sleep. The main bedroom is ensuite, super spacious and has an aircon for those summer months. The main bedroom and the second bedroom both open out onto the deck.
Bathrooms
The main bedroom is ensuite and the two smaller rooms share a bathroom. Both bathrooms have a large walk in shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash and homemade soap, made by the owner, Sam.

Our Top Tips
- Pack your hiking shoes and mountain bikes as there are plenty of trails to explore and dams to take a refreshing dip in after
- Book a few nights and work remotely as there’s high speed WiFi and no load shedding courtesy of being off-grid
- Don’t stress if you’ve forgotten something as it’s just an 8 minute drive into Stellenbosch. There are also some really great restaurants and wine tasting spots to explore, we recommend Rainbow’s End and Oldenburg Vineyard
