Ananda isn’t just a cabin, it’s an experience, and one you’ll need to book in advance! Hidden three hours from Cape Town, along the banks of the Olifants River, this super private, off-grid luxury haven is pure magic, blending rugged wilderness with comfort and style in all the right ways!
Spend your days birdwatching from the cargo net, unwinding in the hot tub, stand-up paddling, or cooling off in the river. Best of all, Ananda is pet-friendly so your four-legged travel buddies can share the adventure too.
What we loved
This cabin had us wanting to redecorate our entire flat! The interiors are next-level, with incredible attention to detail in every corner and no expense spared. The views are just as impressive and there are so many different spaces to enjoy them from. Our favourite spot had to be the cargo net with its super comfy bean bag!
The Space
Kitchenette
There’s a fully equipped kitchenette with a gas hob, fridge-freezer, SMEG kettle and toaster. Coffee, tea, sugar, jug of milk, rusks, eggs, olive oil, salt, pepper and braai seasoning are provided. Don’t forget to pack your pizza ingredients as you’ll want to make use of the pizza oven!
Living/Dining
The spacious open-plan living space with earthy and natural tones features a two seater dining area, comfy couch, and a double-sided fireplace that separates the bedroom from the living area. The living area doors open all the way so you can bring the outdoors in. There is also a bluetooth speaker to set the mood just right.
Outdoors
The exterior is just as impressive as the interiors with a large deck, complete with a built-in braai area, pizza oven, cargo net with a huge bean bag, outdoor dining space and two sun loungers. Steps lead down to the boma area and a KolKol wood-fired hot tub is positioned against the rocks.
Bedroom
The king-sized bed is fitted with the comfiest and most luxurious linen as well as electric blankets for winter. There is a hanging area with shelves for storage, as well as gowns and extra blankets. There is also an aircon for warmer evenings and eye masks are provided too.
Bathroom
The bathroom features a freestanding bath in the corner window so you can look out across the river. There is an indoor shower and an outdoor shower if you prefer being closer to nature. NAP amenities are also provided.
