Hey there!
We’re James and Kirsty, a travel obsessed couple currently living in Cape Town. We’ve been together for nearly 12 years (married for two) and we’ve shared a passion for travel from the start, always saving up for that next holiday!
In 2019, we decided to Airbnb our flat so we could travel around the Western Cape and experience some unique stays. This is where we fell in love with cabins and decided we needed to share these hidden gem stays by starting an Instagram page — and that’s how @cabin_fever_cpt was born!

It got serious...
As our social media pages started gaining traction and more cabin owners and brands reached out to create content for them, we decided to pursue things more seriously. We invested in a camera and drone and spent all our free time learning about photography and videography (with lots of help from the University of Youtube as we had no idea what we were doing).
In 2022, we both decided to quit our corporate jobs and take the plunge to pursue our love for travel and content creation full-time. We’re so grateful that we took the path less travelled, as we have been lucky enough to stay at some of South Africa’s most unique stays since — all while creating content and building a community along the way.
