The perfect romantic stay or honeymoon getaway! This peaceful and luxurious cabin with a wood fired hot tub and breathtaking views is located on a quiet corner of a working fruit farm in Tulbagh. With thoughtful touches at every turn and the option of a romantic surprise, picnic or couples massage it’s perfect for celebrating those special occasions. Spend your afternoons strolling through the orchards or in the hot tub with a glass of wine, while fish eagles circle overhead.
What we loved
The urban, lofted design of this cabin makes you feel like you’re staying in a New York apartment but within a farm setting, and it comes with views from every window, including bed! Hearing fish eagles and owls calling in the night made it even more special. We also loved the roosterkoek and farm fresh eggs welcome pack and all the small touches – the owners have really thought of everything!
The Space
Kitchenette
There’s a fully equipped kitchenette with a gas hob/electric oven, fridge-freezer, whistling kettle, microwave and toaster. Coffee, tea, sugar, 250ml milk, rusks, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt & pepper are provided. You’ll also be welcomed with a basket of fresh farm eggs and roosterkoek, so pack some jam and butter!
Living/Dining
There’s a large leather couch positioned in front of a massive fireplace, along with a handy Bluetooth speaker to set the mood just right. You can choose to dine indoors or outdoors on the wooden deck.
Outdoors
There is a large covered deck with two sun loungers and a wood fired hot tub. There’s also a built-in braai that’s prepped and ready to light, all you need to do is light the lollipop firelighter.
Bedroom
The bedroom opens out onto the deck and boasts stunning mountain views. The extra length king-sized bed comes with extra blankets for winter. There’s also an aircon for those hot summer nights and a cupboard for storage.
Bathroom
The large brushed concrete bathroom features a spacious double shower and bath. You can open the doors fully and enjoy your bath more in nature. Bath amenities and fluffy gowns are provided.

Our Top Tips
- Pack your takkies or mountain bike – you’ll want to explore the farm and orchards, and stop to take some pics with the pink and white blossoms in spring
- Book your leave in for a stress-free getaway as the wifi can be a little slow if you’re working remotely and will not work during load shedding
- If Outpost One is booked, have a look at the other Outposts as they are nearly identical
- They offer a range of romantic gestures to surprise your loved one and make your stay even better which you can add when you book your stay
- Don’t stress if you’ve forgotten something as it’s just a 10 minute drive into Tulbagh. There are also some great coffee shops, restaurants and wine tasting spots to explore, we recommend Kole & Deeg or Kloofzicht Deli for lunch/coffee, The Tulbagh Hotel for dinner & Montpellier, Manley Wine Estate or Twee Jonge Gezellen for wine tasting

- The cabin is located on an active fruit farm so you may hear tractors and other farm activity, especially during the harvest season
- There are 3 other cabins on the property but they are positioned well for privacy
