No surprises here, the name says it all! Perched high on a sea cliff, this is one of those stays where the view completely takes over. Think endless ocean, waves crashing below, and sunrises you’ll actually want to wake up early for. Located in Ballots Bay Nature Reserve along the Garden Route, this four-sleeper is made for pausing, resetting, and soaking up that calm ocean energy, with a hot tub and cargo net to enjoy it all from.
What we loved
The views here are honestly even better in real life! It’s one of those places where you just keep looking out, it never gets old. The bedrooms are super spacious and really comfortable, and waking up to the most magical sunrise was such a highlight. We also loved chilling on the cargo nets, keeping an eye out for whales and dolphins.
The Space
Kitchen
There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a large freestanding oven and gas hob, a Nespresso machine, microwave and toaster. There’s also a separate scullery with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Coffee pods, tea, sugar, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt & pepper are provided.
Living/Dining
The modern, open-plan living space sits between the two bedrooms and features high, lofted ceilings that create a bright and airy feel. It opens out onto the deck and sea views, so the ocean is always front and centre. There’s a large couch, comfy armchairs, a Smart TV, and a four-seater dining table, along with a selection of books and board games.
Outdoors
There are multiple outdoor spaces to take in the sea and cliff views. You’ll find a large cargo net that comfortably fits four, along with a gas braai and seating area on the deck. Steps lead down to a wood-fired hot tub and two hammocks, perfect for an afternoon nap!
Bedrooms
Both bedrooms are super spacious and feature open plan en-suite bathrooms, king-sized beds, and bean bags that are perfect for enjoying the views. One room looks out over the valley and includes a bath, while the other looks out onto the sea and comes with a shower. Each room also comes with a ceiling fan, an open wardrobe for storage, and a dressing table.
Bathrooms
Both bathrooms are open-plan, adding to the spacious, relaxed feel of the rooms. One features a large bath, while the other has a walk-in shower.

Our Top Tips
- Pack your swimming costume or a picnic as there’s a private beach you’ll want to explore
- Bring your hiking shoes too, there are plenty of trails around the reserve and in the area, and you might even spot zebra, wildebeest, and antelope along the way!
- The road up to the reserve is a bit steep but any normal car should be fine
- Book your leave in for a stress-free getaway as the wifi can be a bit slow at times
- We’d recommend stocking up on supplies at The Garden Route Mall before you arrive, as once you’re there, you probably won’t want to leave! There’s a Woolworths, Food Lover’s Market, and Van Rensburg’s Food – a really nice deli
- Bring some extra wood for the hot tub so you can keep it going all weekend long
