The perfect place to truly unplug! Tucked away at the base of a koppie on a trout farm, three hours from Johannesburg, this unique glamping dome for two is all about slowing down and reconnecting with nature, yourself and each other. With no signal, limited Wi-Fi, and a “disconnect box” to lock away your phone, you’ll swap scrolling for stargazing, stunning views, and hot tub chats.
What we loved
There’s so much to explore on the farm — it truly feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, completely surrounded by nature, with fishing, birdwatching, forest walks, and canoeing all right on your doorstep. But our favourite part was the disconnect box — something we’d never seen at a cabin before. Locking our phones away and spending time together with board games, puzzles, and an Instax camera was the kind of reset we didn’t know we needed.
The Space
Kitchen/Dining
There is a fully equipped kitchenette which comes with a fridge/freezer, gas hob, microwave, small oven, kettle and toaster. It’s fully self catering so you’ll need to pack coffee, tea, salt & pepper, oil etc. The small countertop dining area offers lovely views, and the windows open wide to let in the fresh air.
Living
The small living area features a super comfy couch next to a cozy fireplace. You’ll find books, games, puzzles, and even an Instax camera to capture moments and memories throughout your stay.
Outdoors
The outdoor deck comes with two sun loungers and a KolKol wood fired hot tub – perfect for stargazing or cooling off on warm days. There’s also a covered section of deck just outside the kitchen with a gas braai and a bench seat overlooking the garden and views.
Bedroom
The geodome features a queen size bed, with a dressing area and storage space behind. There is also a ceiling fan, hot water bottle and electric blankets for winter.
Bathroom
The modern, light and bright, Bali-inspired bathroom is located just outside the dome and comes with a large shower.
